About Me
My name is Paul Chodak and I am the founder of the online Maths tutoring service "Maths with Paul".
After graduating from university with a B.Sc.Hons. in Physics and an M.Sc. in Applied Geophysics, I worked for 21 years as a software development engineer in the aerospace industry in England and Germany.

My first introduction to teaching came when I gave extra tuition in IB DP Maths and Physics in Schule Schloss Salem, an international boarding school located near the shores of Lake Constance in Germany. I soon became a full time teacher in the school and taught Pre-IB/IB Maths at all levels in grades 9-12 for a further 15 years. I also initiated a series of Maths Support Groups to help the weaker students.

I then moved to the Bavarian International School (BIS) near Munich and taught IB MYP Maths in grades 7-8 and IB DP AI SL Maths in grade 11 for an additional year. During this time, I came up with the idea to start my own online tutoring service to help students at all levels to improve their understanding of the Maths topics they are studying, and also to provide them with additional guidance to improve their preparation for tests, assessments and exams in the IB, EB, IGCSE/GCSE, A-level, German Abitur and Swiss/Austrian Matura systems because there are many curriculum overlaps. I can also help students prepare for the TMUA (Test of Mathematics for University Admission). Furthermore, I can offer tuition in both English and German as I am fluent in both languages.

I am a young at heart, friendly and approachable teacher with a wealth of experience of working with international students from a wide variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds, and I enjoy the diversity.

I believe in the "I can" approach and try to instill this in all of my students. Everything is possible if you perservere, have determination and work hard. I also believe that "simple is best" and try to use easy to understand explanations of all mathematical concepts.
